Mission
The Atomic Energy Council (AEC), established at the ministerial level under the Executive Yuan, is the sole authority within the Central Government directly overseeing atomic energy related affairs. AEC's mission is two-fold: to develop and enforce regulations, and to conduct R&D of nuclear technology.

Resources and Budget
AEC employs 1160 people, about 20% of which devoted directly to regulatory efforts, while remaining to R&D in confirmatory research and technology development for various civilian nuclear applications.
Our staff are highly educated and technically trained; more than half are engineers and scientists. A large number of employees have advanced degrees in a full spectrum of specialized fields.
